Dr Kim Sonntag is a qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in high risk pregnancies, teenage women’s health, perimenopause and contraception.

She is passionate about educating women regarding their obstetric and gynaecological wellbeing and allowing her patients the space to make collective decisions regarding their health. She is an advocate for vaginal deliveries and cares about forming a long-lasting relationship with her patients.

Dr Sonntag graduated from the University of Cape Town as a medical doctor in 2006 and spent 2 years in Pietermaritzburg completing her internship. Her Community Service year was spent at Barberton Hospital in Mpumulanga, followed by a further 2 years of working in London. She came back to South Africa in 2012 and completed 4 years specialist training at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital. During this time, she achieved her Masters degree in surgical site infection post caesarean section.

In 2016 she opened her own private practice and has been practising at Life Kingsbury Hospital in Cape Town since 2017.
