This practice is contracted to Discovery medical aid and Polmed. Members of other medical aids will need to pay upfront and then claim back themselves.
The first pregnancy visit is recommended at 6-8 weeks after your last period. This consultation will include an ultrasound scan to determine how far along you are.
You are more than welcome to shave or wax, but it is not necessary.
Having your period during a consultation is not an issue and a pap smear and examination can be performed regardless.
Our practice is located on the Life Kingsbury Hospital premises and any hospital admissions or surgeries are performed at Kingsbury Hospital.
For any emergencies please contact the office immediately. If it is after hours please go directly to Maternity Ward if 20 weeks pregnant and over, otherwise to the Kingsbury Emergency Unit, if earlier in pregnancy, or not pregnant. Dr Sonntag will be contacted once you have been assessed.
Your medical aid details, a referral letter if you have one, results of any tests done, a list of any medications you are on. If you have any questions, write them down and bring these with you. You will be required to give a urine sample at each visit.
Unfortunately Dr Kim Sonntag is only available for deliveries at Kingsbury Hospital.
Yes, in the right circumstances Dr Sonntag does support VBACs, where they are safe to do so.
